Jørgen Rud. Rasmussen (b. 1940), who is the forth generation at Rud. Rasmussen, qualified as a cabinet maker in 1960 and studied architecture at Kunsthåndværkerskolens Møbelskole (Denmark's School of Art and Design) from 1963-65 and Kunstakademiets Møbelskole in 1966. Jørgen Rud. Rasmussen took over the company in 1979 and as well as running the family business he has been in charge of special design projects. He has also designed furniture which has been put into production. This includes the Writing desk, the Folding Table and the Daybed.

Jørgen Rud. Rasmussen continues to maintain the uncompromising standards in materials and quality - like the three generations before him also maintained. This has offered many interesting commissions for private as well as public establishments. But the real art has been to form a synthesis of people, activities, the physical environment and a world marked by continuos change into a living environment for unique and timeless design and craftsmanship.
